I’m excited to announce that I have finally launched my freelance business “The Scientist Coach”. From now on I’m available as a trainer for career planning courses, and I will release an online version of my course early 2019!
During my time as a researcher, I have been lucky to meet inspiring people, who showed me that there is more out there for PhD holders than only the academic career path. I have had countless conversations with doctoral researchers and postdocs, and it has become clear to me that there is a great need for advice and support with regard to career planning.
The United States (where I spent 3 years as a Postdoc) are far ahead of Germany when it comes to career counselling and career support for doctoral researchers and postdocs. Graduate Career Centers, Postdoctoral Offices and Associations, and the National Postdoctoral Association do their best to help young scientists with their careers in and outside academia.
I am very grateful that I had the chance to experience this support myself, and it is my goal to bring this spirit also to German universities and research institutes.
I will regularly post articles with helpful advice in this new blog. Make sure to sign up for my newsletter to always get the latest information and stay tuned for more!
